CIVIL ENGINEERING
TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE

Peter Evans Partnership Ltd is an established firm of Transport and Highway Consultants based in Clifton, Bristol. With a wide range of expertise in transport matters, we work on projects with locations throughout the UK. With three directors, nine technical staff and an admin team of three, we are currently recruiting for a Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice.

HOURS
Full time – with day release for study

SALARY
Dependant on experience but between £12,000 and £16,000

SKILLS REQUIRED

Excellent attention to detail

Good mathematical abilities

Ability to manage own time and prioritise work

PERSONAL QUALITIES

Able to work as part of a team

Strong interpersonal skills

An enthusiasm to learn new skills

FAMILIAR WITH

Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

GAIN KEY EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING ON:

computer aided design (CAD);

highway design and preparing road and junction drawings;

preparing drawings for technical reports;

ordering data and background information for projects and assisting in drawing preparation;

analysing background data such as road traffic accident data, traffic surveys and post code information.

JUNIOR SECRETARY

Peter Evans Partnership Ltd are an established firm of Transport Consultants based in Clifton, Bristol. With three directors, 8 technical staff and an admin team of 3, we are currently recruiting for a Junior Secretary to work alongside the Office Manager and Bookkeeper in a small but busy admin team.

HOURS
Full time or part time considered – but must be able to work five days a week to 5.30pm each day.

SALARY
Dependant on experience

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent interpersonal skills, fast and accurate typing, confident multi-tasker

FAMILIAR WITH
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

KEY TASKS:

Entering timesheets on time system

Typing letters and emails as dictated by directors

Diary management

Filing and archiving

Answering phones / taking messages

Logging incoming post / outgoing post

Creating prospects and new jobs

Booking conferences / hotel accommodation / taxis / hire cars / couriers

Binding / copying

Amending and formatting reports and letters

Welcoming visitors, making tea and coffee

Dealing with deliveries

Organising social events

Other ad-hoc duties when required
